Bear Trails specialise in Grizzly Bear
tours to see and photograph bears, whales and other wildlife in
Canada and The Arctic. Canada is home to all 3 great bears of
North America - Grizzly Bear Tours,
Black Bear Tours and Polar
Bear Tours. It also boasts apex predators in the air and ocean
including the Bald Eagle and Orca or Killer
Whale. Numerous species of whales and other marine mammals
can
be found its coastal waters, and a
bewildering array of resident and migratory birds fill its skies.
In the Far North, "Nanook" The Great White Bear shares
his kingdom of snow and ice with strange and mysterious animals
like the Muskox, Walrus, and Narhwal. From the forests, rivers,
and rocky mountains of the Pacific Northwest, to the desolation
and raw beauty of the Arctic Tundra, let Bear Trails help you
to design your perfect Grizzly Bear Tour to this fascinating and
diverse country.
This is the main navigation page for Bear Trails. From here you can access all of the site contents. Click on any of the 3 Provinces above for specific information about their native wildlife, wildlife destinations, and the activities available. We organise tailor-made trips to any or all of these Provinces, and to see all 3 species of bears. You choose your own itinerary, we make it happen.
While Canada is at the forefront of the First World, and boasts one of the highest standards of living anywhere in the world, it is has a relatively low population density with around 90% of the population living within a few hundred miles of the border with the USA. This translates to huge swathes of natural wilderness habitat, much of it protected, allowing wildlife as amazingly diverse as the habitats they live in to thrive, with little contact with, or encroachment from humans. Canada's National and Provincial Parks are far too numerous to list individually, but collectively they offer unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities, and almost as many ways to see wildlife as there are species to see. Grizzly Bear Tours can be organised from elevated viewing platforms, hides, vehicles, boats and on foot.
In the west, where the Coast Mountains meet the Pacific, the forests, rivers, and rugged coastline of British Columbia are home to the mighty Grizzly Bear, and their smaller kin the Black Bear. Overhead the Bald Eagle is the king of his aerial domain, and the rich coastal waters are the core habitat of the most studied Orca or Killer Whale population in the world, and play host to migratory baleen whales including the Humpback and Gray Whale. Minke Whales, Pacific Whitesided Dolphins, Dall's Porpoises, Sea lions and Seals also call these emerald green waters home, as do all 5 species of Pacific Salmon.
We believe strongly in responsible eco-tourism with an emphasis on respect for wildlife, the environment , indigenous cultures, and the wilderness communities we visit . Our aim is to create a company that not only provides unforgettable Grizzly Bear Tours, but also directly contributes to the effective conservation of wildlife and natural habitat, and rewards responsible ecotourism initiatives in small, often remote communities with much needed income.
So join us on our Grizzly Bear Tours, as we hunt for Grizzlies throughout their extensive range in Brisitsh Colombia; where the only shots you will take, are through a camera lens.
